We are proud to announce that Transocean selected Beezy to enhance their SharePoint intranet with enterprise social networking capabilities.

“Our Senior VP of Operations requested an enterprise social networking solution to replace his Facebook usage”, says Sandiarta Kurniawan, SharePoint Program Technical Lead at Transocean, “He was using Facebook to communicate with our employees, but we needed to replace this for an enterprise solution with similar social functionalities supported by IT. One of his key requirements was the availability of native mobile apps with push notifications”. With respect to IT the solution had to be integrated into SharePoint to help with SharePoint adoption.

Beezy meets both Transocean’s business and IT requirements: Beezy is not just integrated with SharePoint, it runs inside the SharePoint platform. Beezy is part of SharePoint and brings social capabilities to this enterprise platform that employees are used to in the consumer world.

After initially having tested Beezy’s enterprise social capabilities via a free trial, Transocean’s CIO was convinced of Beezy’s customization and integration capabilities. “Our CIO is pushing BYOD a lot lately”, continues Kurniawan, “Therefor he was keen to turn the free trial into an official pilot project to deploy and test Beezy’s Mobile Apps. During the pilot Beezy also applied Transocean’s branding to the trial installation and we configured Search”, says Kurniawan.

The pilot lasted a few weeks and exceeded both technical and business expectations. In just a matter of weeks a regular SharePoint intranet got turned into an engaging enterprise social network. “Beezy enabled us to leverage our existing SharePoint infrastructure and even keep our intranet branding”. continues Kurniawan, “We are seeing greater traction to our platform and our senior managers can communicate with more transparency and freedom than ever before.  A true win-win for business and IT”.
